Ann Carruth September 25, 1944 - December 29, 2021

Julia “Ann” Carruth was born on September 25, 1944, in Altus, Oklahoma to Lyle E. “Bill” Christenson and Judy Eidson Christenson. She went home to her eternal reward on December 29, 2021, with her only sister and oldest child at her side.

Ann was an Alpha Phi at Baylor University where she met the love of her life, William L. Carruth, DDS. They married on June 27, 1964, and remained faithfully devoted to one another for 57 years. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Life Education.

Ann’s devotion to Christ Jesus was always her top priority, followed closely by selfless devotion to her family; she was always happiest serving God, and especially when serving God with family. She taught Sunday school for children and adults and led many Bible studies and prayer groups over the years. She sang in the choir and was the last to leave the church after almost every service.

Ann had a well-used old-fashioned prayer closet, a.k.a war room, where she spent countless hours on her knees interceding for loved ones, acquaintances, and others in need of God’s comfort. She was constantly in prayer for her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Her spiritual gifts included giving, teaching, and evangelism. She loved to laugh and loved to worship.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her husband, William (Bill), her children Kimberly Carruth, Andrew Carruth and wife Julie Carruth, Elizabeth Carruth and her partner Phillip Quinn, sister Mary Melissa Vernon and her husband Bruce Vernon, grandchildren Emerson Deleanu, Gabriella (Ella) Deleanu, Rachel Carruth, Courtney Carruth, and Bailey Quinn, and the “half dozen cousins.”

I just found out that Ann beat me to heaven! She’s been on my mind the last few weeks. I hadn’t seen her in many years. I’m sad she’s gone from this life but I know she’s thrilled to be with her Lord and Savior. Love you Ann!
