Avery Thomas Pittman September 3, 1990 - March 31, 2016

How can one possibly summarize such an incredible life with merely a few words? I argue one cannot, but we shall make every possible attempt to memorialize Avery as he has now passed into the loving arms of Christ on March 31, 2016. He is preceded by his grandmother Mary L. Pittman, grandmother Gerrie L. Snare, and grandfather John F. Snare.

Avery Thomas Pittman was born to Robert and Stephanie Pittman on September 3, 1990 in Edmond, Oklahoma. He attended Southwest Covenant Schools from 1st grade until his high school graduation in 2009, where he graduated as class Valedictorian. He received a scholarship to Oklahoma State University where he became a beloved brother of the BYX fraternity and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutritional Sciences. Upon graduation from OSU, Avery was one of a select few to attend the prestigious University of Oklahoma Physician Assistant program in Tulsa, where he excelled, graduated, and became licensed as a Certified Physician Assistant. On April 1, Avery would have started his incredible work as a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery. Instead, Avery is now doing even greater work glorifying Christ as the Great Physician's assistant.

But let us now take a step back and remember the real Avery – the Avery that was and is the most loving son, the best brother, and the most loyal friend anyone could ever have the privilege to know. Yes, Avery was an absolutely brilliant mind – that's undisputable. But who is Avery? For those of us who had the privilege to truly know him, one word continues to come to mind – impeccable. Avery was an impeccable man of faith, character, moral fortitude, subtle wisdom, and class. Avery accepted Christ into his heart at an early age and grew in the way of the Lord, which made him the man he is today. Avery was an avid reader, a lover of crafting wood, a soccer enthusiast, an incredible chef, and always the best dressed man in the room. One of his true joys was his dog, Maddie, who was the best friend a man could ever have and the one with Avery to the very end. Avery was a gentle and Godly man – full of patience, obedience, kindness, and virtue – always willing at a moment's notice to help those in need. Words will never due justice the love he had for his friends, and the love his friends and family will have for him forever. Avery was truly one of a kind who made an impact on every life he touched – a man whose very presence emulated Christ's love. He was the epitome of class, the finest of gentlemen, and the one whom we all hope to strive to model. He was the best of us. We praise the Lord for his life, the precious time we had with him on this earth, and the impact that he will continue to have on each of the lives he touched. He is survived by his father Robert S. Pittman, mother Stephanie L. Pittman, brother LT Benjamin P. Pittman, MD, and grandfather Jerrie D. Pittman, among numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

If you so desire, please send flowers, memories, or tributes to either Buchanan Funeral Service or to the home of Robert and Stephanie Pittman. Donations are also welcome as a foundation, in memoriam of Avery T. Pittman, will be established in his name at a later time to continue his legacy. Avery started his eternal celebration in Heaven with Christ on March 31, 2016. He will be so greatly missed but forever remembered in our hearts and minds. Please join us in continuing Avery's legacy on Wednesday, April 6 at Frontline Church in Oklahoma City at 1:00PM to celebrate his life.
