Barbara’s life was lived in the spirit of celebration. When asked, what was her favorite holiday, she said she cannot pick just one. She loved them all as she loved to celebrate others.

She was born on September 26, 1954 at Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, Oklahoma. She passed away on June 17, 2023, in the presence of her family, in her home. Her transition was very peaceful as she was being bathed in prayer, praise, and worship.

She’s preceded in death by her father, Wesley Fansler; mother, Eva Jo Fansler; brother, Richard Fansler; brother, Joseph Fansler; and brother Howard Fansler. She is survived by her husband, Larry Elliott of Oklahoma City; daughter, Melanie, husband, Jacob, son, Caleb, and daughter Isabella; son Knowle Elliott, wife Pam, and daughter Ashley; Daughter Lindsey Logemann, husband John, and son Gavin; son Ryan Elliott, wife Andrea, and son Triston.

She worked at New Heights Headstart for 22 years. She loved to buy gifts for the children for back to school, Christmas and any other holiday that could be celebrated. She loved the children and the people that she worked with. She enjoyed attending the Gate Church.

She had a high value for a clean house. Many nights she would be up late making sure all was in order before going to bed. She was known for her love of all things sweet especially Pie. She liked them all. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Chuck E. Cheese and patiently waited as they turned in all their prize tickets. She was very patient and soft-spoken, but you couldn’t doubt her strength and determination to protect those she loved.

She was a very fierce prayer warrior, and never ashamed, taking the time to pray for someone in need. Proverbs 31:29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”

Services for Barbara Gayle Elliott will be held as follows: a visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Buchanan Funeral Service with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd. Oklahoma City, OK 73118.

    We are so sad for your loss and praying for His peace to surround your family.
    Barbara will be remembered for her beautiful smile and kindness. She leaves a legacy of faith that continues to shine in her children and grandchildren.
