Barbara Jolin June 17, 1988 - March 26, 2023

Barbara Ann Jolin was born on a warm and sunny day in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 17th, 1988, to Jutta and Larry Carter. Barbara spent the first years of her life on a farm nestled between Cache and Indiahoma, Oklahoma with her parents and siblings. She enjoyed playing in the mud puddles after the spring and summer rains, eating the fresh strawberries and other vegetables and fruits grown in Jutta’s never-ending gardens, chasing the animals that would roam throughout the farm especially the chickens and ducks, fishing in the ponds, feeding the horses and cows treats, and enjoying the simple farm life. Later in life she moved to Cache, Oklahoma where she attended and graduated with the class of 2007 from Cache High School. After graduation, Barbara attended Cameron University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development. She later started a career with the State of Oklahoma and used her desire to help others through her career.

While Barbara attended college she worked as a bank teller, which matched her bright and larger-than-life personality. She had customers that would brighten her day, and some that she would do her best to brighten theirs. During this time, she met the father of her two unique and incredible boys, Jaxon and Noah; Bobby Jolin, her best friend and safe place in life. The one person that knows her better than any other. Barbara and Bobby share a bond that others could only dream of. They worked hard to provide an incredible life for their boys. A life full of love, amazing memories, adventures, safety, and calm with their bonus brother Winston, their dog.

She loved her little family more than anything on earth. She was the ideal mother, the image of perfection and patience. She was always teaching and guiding, making sure to keep nature and the outdoors as close to the heart as possible. As a mother, she was an unblemished example of how a mother should be; loving, caring, kind, and inspirational to her children. She inspired growth, wonder, and joy in her two incredible boys, all her nieces and nephews, and every child she spoke to. In true Barbara spirit, she was driven by the love she had for her boys to maintain a life that they could cherish throughout the years.

Barbara always challenged each of us to be better. She was always there to cheer us on during hard times. As a friend and companion, she inspired greatness in all of those she touched, and she touched so many. She made friends that have been considered family for years. It was easy for her, because of her passion and charisma, for everyone around her to fall in love with her. Each one of her extended family has stories for days about how fun Barbara was. She has been referred to as the life of the party, vibrant and electric, full of grace and energy, and so many other special things that truly described Barbara.

Barbara departed this world on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Her vibrant and warm soul touched everyone she encountered. Barbara’s intelligence, beauty, and vibrance instantly drew attention in every room she entered. Her passion for helping others was only surpassed by the empathy of her heart. Her absence has created a scar in the very fabric that holds life together for so many. The story of her life will forever resonate brightly from the mouths of those who knew her. To say that her life was worthy of a movie wouldn’t even begin to explain her personality. She will be greatly missed by all those that she knew.

Bobby Jolin, her best friend and father of their two children, Jaxon and Noah; may God hold you, Jaxon, and Noah, in his hands as you embark upon your next chapter in life. Remember, the little things, hug each other often, and keep the traditions that brought joy going. Barbara inspired and loved so many that you’ll never have to bear the weight of this alone.

Despite our pain and sorrow, we are comforted that she has joined her mother, that she missed dearly, Jutta Carter, and her father, Larry Carter.

Her spirit will forever live on in her two young sons, Jaxon Jolin and Noah Jolin. She will always be loved and held close by her brothers, John Carter and wife Kathy, Patrick Carter and wife Karen and their son Ryan, Henry Carter, Frank Carter, Jarius Campbell, and Thaddeus Carter, and by her sisters Starr Carter, Audrey Phillips and her husband Chad and their children Eliot Thompson, Chloe Haug and Husband Gavin and their son Greyson, Riley Thompson, Zoe Phillips, and Elizabeth Phillips, as well as all of her extended family and beautiful and amazing friends that are family, you know who you are.

A visitation will  be held from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 6, 2023 with a funeral service directly after at 10:30 AM at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
