Betty Jo Wojkowiak was born on October 15, 1935 in Billings, Oklahoma to Rosie (Bolin) and Paul Foster. She graduated from high school in 1953 at Delaware, Oklahoma. She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She met Joseph J. Wojtkowiak at the dance in downtown Oklahoma City at the YWCA. She was a member of the Tri-C’s and they held dances there on the weekends. She and Joe were married August 23, 1958 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She was a stay at home mom while her children were small. She later taught in Utica School system in Utica, Michigan and then worked for the state of Michigan until Joe retired and they moved back to her beloved Oklahoma. She loved to play duplicate bridge and was a life master. She was also a genealogy buff and did extensive research on tracing her ancestors. She and Jow spent a lot of time traveling until illness kept them from doing so.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Wojtkowiak, two daughters, Martha Rose and Pauline May, both died a few minutes after birth, her parents, brother Thomas Foster and sisters Pearl Shouse and Pauline Scott. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph and Michael Wojtkowiak and three daughters, Patricia Bitler, Kathleen Wojtkowiak and Elizabeth Hale, sister Rosemary Gann and seven grandchildren.
