Beverley Rae Marsden Tully, 81, of Edmond passed away May 17, 2023, shortly after a diagnosis with cancer. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark’s Bethany at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, with Interment following at 2:30 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, OK.
She was born January 20, 1942, in Tulsa OK, to Willis Ware Marsden and Virginia L. Marsden. She married Michael Allen Tully May 15, 1959. She was a 1959 graduate of Stillwater High School and received her Doctor of Education from Oklahoma State University in 1990.
Beverley began her career as a teacher in the elementary grades. She was known for her kindness, encouragement and genuine care for all her students. She ended her work life as Professor at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2004 after 14 years, where she had dedicated herself to students and faculty in the Educational Instruction and Leadership Department.
Her lively laugh, loving and continuous smile were her trademarks. She was full of life and will be greatly missed by all. She would often be seen stopping to visit with neighbors while getting in her daily 15,000+ steps. She simply did not know how to slow down, except perhaps to read the paper or a book. She was a voracious reader accumulating an extensive library and often trading books with friends and family members. During her retirement she enjoyed her family and many friends and travels, including Italy and Spain with loved ones. Other activities included lunch dates, Bunco groups, and singing in the choir and teaching adult Sunday school class at St. Marks Bethany Church.
Beverley was preceded in death by her parents and husband and sister, Janet Marsden Hargrove and brother-in-law Frank Hargrove. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shelli Tully, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and John Erickson, granddaughter Bailey Erickson Stover and husband Jeff Stover, Laura Bilby and husband Jared Bilby, Sabrina Dykes and husband Casey Dykes, Michael Lewis Tully, and Johnathan Ware Tully, and numerous great-grandchildren, niece Teri Hargrove Round and husband Kip Round, nephew Tim Hargrove, niece Tina Hargrove Ahern and husband Brian Ahern, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
