Bill graduated Central High School in OKC in 1945. He then served in the United States Army 181st Signal Depot Company and was Honorably Discharged in 1947. Bill and his wife Helen Darlene celebrated the birth of their first son Terry in 1950. A few years later their second child Sherrie arrived. Bill had various jobs in the aviation industry before the family moved to OKC and he began working for the Bell Labs at Western Electric. Bill excelled in his role with the company and eventually took early retirement so he and Darlene could travel the country. They spent many retirement years at their home working in the yard, their beautiful rose garden, and enjoying their grandchildren. Darlene lost her battle with Alzheimer's on August 30, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Bill lived on for another 3 years until the time our Lord called him to return home. Bill is survived by their son, Terry & wife Annie of Choctaw, OK and their daughter Sherrie of Oklahoma City. Mom and Dad always felt they were most proud of the longevity of their marriage, their children, their grandchildren, and their great-grandchildren. They believed if you don't have those things, you really don't have very much. They will pass on a legacy of character and faith. Daddy, your family will always love you and miss you. You taught us so much about living life every day and loving family. We will see you again soon. Visitation will be Monday from 2 – 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 – 8 p.m. with a graveside service at Arlington Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
