Brandon L “Brandi” Hubbard November 25, 1973 - August 29, 2012

Brandi went to Heaven at the Hospice House in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Her mother, Carol Williams, cousin David Bell and her "Boyfriend" Jeff Gowens were by her bedside. Brandi had been undergoing treatment for the last two years with Famillial Adenomatous Polyposis, a very rare genetic disease. She had fought a valiant battle with a sepsis infection for 5 months that finally took her life. Brandi graduated with a RNBSN degree from OCU and a Legal nurse certification from the University of Tulsa. She was a dedicated operating room nurse at Summit Medical Center in Edmond, never missing a day during two rounds of chemotherapy. Prior to Summit Medical Center, she worked at Bone & Joint and Integris Baptist Hospitals. Her work ethic was always impeccable and admired by her peers. Her son, Hunter was the love of her life. They enjoyed a special bond that will be everlasting. Brandi's favorite place to be was at the beach with her friends and family. She was generous, loving, fun, a wonderful mom, daughter and friend. She has joined her own band of angels; her beloved grandmother, Polly Johnson Sookne "Mornin", granddaddy, Rudolph Johnson, aunt and best friend, Dulce Bell, grandma, Helen Rand and W. J. "Big Bill" Jones. Brandi is survived by her son, Hunter Hubbard of West Plains, MO; her mother, Carol and husband Frank "Gramps" Williams of OKC; her dad, John Rand and wife "Glo" of Maumelle, AR; her nephew, Rogers Mayor Greg Hines wife Lisa daughters Haley and Emily; her birth parents, Rick and Regina Sims and brother, Devin Sims; and numerous other family members. Brandi and her family want to thank Dr. Chris Davis for his relentless research and personal care that he gave Brandi. Kudos to all the caring staff on 10 East at Integris Baptist Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts made to Oklahoma City University, School of Nursing, % Brandon Hubbard Scholarship Fund, 2501 N. Blackwelder, Oklahoma City, OK 73106. Memorial services to celebrate her life will be 11:00 am, Saturday, August 8 at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel.
