SNELL, CAROLE JANE
,73, passed away Jan. 9, 2009 in OKC. She was born in St. Louis, OK on January 26, 1935 to Earl Snell and Grace Fern (McCain) Snell.
Carole received her Bachelor's degree from OU in Education, with a minor in Music. She earned her Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling from UCO.
Her career spanned: owning her own business for several years, CJ's Dairy Boy; Camp Director for Campfire Girls; Purchasing agent for City of OKC Golf courses; and social worker for DHS, working with neglected and abused children.
Carole loved golf, OU football, girls basketball, reading, music, her pets, friends, and family. She was an active member of her church, United Life Spiritual Center, and volunteered her time for Potluck Sunday, Pancake Sunday, and singing in the choir.
Carole is preceded in death by brother Robert E. Snell, sister Earleen Somerville, and brother Lemois Palmer.
She is survived by many friends, and family: Deana Madewell, Joy McBride: brother, Pat Palmer and wife Ann; Nephews David Somerville, Stephen Somerville; and Nieces Gwen Jones and Rozanne Richardson.
She is greatly missed by family, pets, and friends. The family is grateful and thankful for the many who kept continuous vigil by her hospital bed for 12 days.
Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Jan. 14th at United Life Spiritual Center, 3332 N. Meridian.
