Charles Alexander Lybarger May 9, 1938 - February 12, 2024

Charles “Charlie” Lybarger age 85, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Monday, Feb. 12th,

2024 at 12:25am at Integris Hospital of OKC.

Charlie was born on May 9, 1938 in Madison, Illinois, to George Henson Lybarger and Anita

Dorothy Meier. He married the love of his life, Rita Marshall on September 14th, 1960. Charlie

had a long career in Logistics with several major industry leaders.

He enjoyed being involved in his children and grandchildren’s activities, was an avid golfer, had

a passion for gardening and loved walking his best friend, Molly. He lived by the motto – “If

you’re a friend, you’re family.” He and Rita claimed many as their own and always had an open

door policy. One of his favorite activities was going on Carnival Cruises with his wife and

traveling the world. His love for adventure and exploration was as big as his love for all the

family and friends he encountered along the way.

Charlie is survived by the wife and love of his life for 64 years – Rita, their 3 children: Linda

Covey (Ben), Larry Lybarger (Danielle), Lance Lybarger (Samantha), 10 grandchildren and 4

great grandchildren, his brother Don Lybarger (Diane) and his sister-in-law Cathy Lybarger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving daughter – Lori Lybarger, his brother Bob

Lybarger, sister Judy Donaldson and brother-in-law Logan Donaldson.

A viewing will be held in his honor at Buchanan Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 14th from

1-8pm. The family will be there to accept condolences from 6-8pm. Charlie’s funeral service will

take place at Buchanan Funeral Home at 2pm on Thursday, Feb. 15th, followed by a burial at

Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
