Dahlia L. Kjelshus departed this life to go to Heaven to be with her Heavenly Father on April 25, 2012. She was born on July 18, 1926, in Heathsville, Virginia. After graduating from Heathsville High School, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she was employed by The Bell Telephone Company. It was there that she met and married Eddie H. Kjelshus on October 15, 1949. Her husband was a Veteran of WWII and flew many missions over Europe in a B-24 Liberator. The Kjelshus family moved from Washington, D.C. to Oklahoma City in 1961, when Ed was transferred for his job with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Dahlia was a devoted mother and we are so blessed to have had the most kind, loving and caring Mom. Her greatest joy was her family. The smallest things brought her joy. She loved all kinds of flowers, but the Zinnia was her favorite, just like her mother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Dahlia was preceded in death by her husband, Ed and her sister, Dorothy L. Edwards. She is survived by son, Eddie of New Haven, Connecticut; son, Gary and wife Debbie and son Tyler of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Kim and husband George and their daughter Olivia of San Diego, California.
We Love You, Mom.
"Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:29
Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 am, Monday, April 30 at Buchanan Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
