Debbie graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1967, then went to college briefly at Central State University in Edmond, before marrying her first husband, Ron Turner. This marriage brought her two daughters, Sarah and Megan. Her second marriage to Stephen Lynch in 1984 was her greatest love. She gained a bonus daughter Erin, and soon after, her baby Jill was born. Debbie was married to Steve for 40 years and they shared a love for do-it-yourself projects, gardening and hosting family gatherings at their home.
Debbie loved to sew and garden throughout her life. She loved to create just about anything, including macrame and painting on wood. She helped her daughters sew Halloween costumes, alter prom dresses, create ring-bearer suits and clothing for her grandchildren.
Debbie worked as an ophthalmic technician for Dr. Sterling Baker for more than 20 years, the most veteran employee at his office. She was a lifelong learner, always quick to learn more as Dr. Baker’s practice grew over the years.
Debbie volunteered in her community. In her retirement, she helped elementary students learn to read. For many years, she was president of her neighborhood gardening club. On Sundays she could be found greeting people as they entered Epiphany Catholic Church.
Remaining to cherish Debbie’s memory are her husband Steve, her children Sarah, Megan, Erin and Jill; her 7 grandchildren Shelby, Chloe, Jake, Vincent, Ava, Mitch and Theodore and one great granddaughter, Paisley; her cousin Karen and a large extended family.
Preceding Debbie in death are her parents Tommy and Jeanette, her sister Tamara Shelby and her beloved Aunt Jo and Uncle Bob.
The memorial service for Deborah will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
