After graduation she began her 20 year career as a head bookkeeper and payroll clerk for NAPA Automotive. Changing careers in 1980 she was executive secretary to the Vice President of an oil well servicing company. It was there that she met and married Gene Reames. They began their own oil well servicing company in 1985. Gene was a 3rd generation of well servicing operations. They closed the company and retired in 2004 due to his declining health. He preceded her in death in 2013. During this time she volunteered at Southwest Medical, Deaconess, and OK Heart hospital, accumulating over 6700 hours. Having her daughter Sheryl as her best friend and being active in her 2 grandsons activities, she helped to teach them baseball, golf, bowling, swimming, and many other fun times together. Her greatest accomplishment was accepting the Lord as her Savior in 1969 and spent the rest of her life honoring Him and serving Him in different areas. Her life scripture was Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the Lord. Be strong and take courage, yes wait on the Lord.” This helped her sustain the journey she had with breast cancer since 2005.
