Dorothy Lee Loosen March 6, 1927 - April 12, 2021

Dorothy Lee Loosen passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 12, 2021, at St. Ann’s Retirement Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 94 with her family by her side.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and a friend and she will be greatly missed.

Dorothy “Dot” Lee Lehman Loosen was born March 6, 1927, to Marie and Jess Lehman of Geary, Oklahoma. Dorothy had three siblings, Anna Lou Hoffman, Joyce Boyd and Donald Lehman.

Dorothy married Emil Carl Loosen on April 15, 1947. They farmed near Omega, Oklahoma. She is survived by their children: Kathleen Marie Starks, Christine Ann Richardson, Betty Jean Kuehn and husband Fred, Ernest Clay Loosen and wife Noelle; grandchildren: Shelly Starks Kavanagh, Lisa Richardson Branstetter, Wes Richardson, Kim Kuehn, John Kuehn, Carter Loosen and Madeline Loosen; great-grandchildren: Andrew Kavanagh, Hunter and Skylar Bransetter, Woody Richardson, Annabella, Cooper and Henry Kuehn.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband, siblings and her grandson Kristopher Kuehn and her son-in-law Don Richardson.

Dorothy loved Jesus, her family and friends. She had so much joy and acceptance for everyone and took pride in being a homemaker. She was an active member of the Blaine County Extension Homemakers Club, assisted with Blaine Count 4-H and enjoyed tole painting, sewing and quilting with friends and many cups of coffee with her best friend Toot Marks. Dorothy and Emil belonged to several square dance and camping groups and traveled with good friends to all 50 states.

Dorothy lived at St. Ann’s Retirement Center in Oklahoma City and made many friends.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Mike Stevenson, the staff at St. Ann’s and many of the care givers for the love and support given to Dorothy.

We would like to thank her Dr. Dean Drooby for the loving care of our mother. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your favorite charity in her memory.

Her final resting place will be next to her husband Emil Carl Loosen at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
