Elaine Davenport October 4, 1955 - May 21, 2023

Elaine Davenport died Sunday, May 21^st, 2023. Elaine was the daughter of Carrie and Hunter Bryant, born October 4^th, 1955 in Rushville, Illinois.

Elaine grew up and was educated in Del City, OK. She attended Del City High School and was a member of the class of 1973. After graduating high school, Elaine continued her education at Rose State College graduating in nursing with an LPN degree.

Her nursing career began at St. Anthony’s Hospital in OKC. Elaine would later become a home healthcare nurse. Elaine had a natural gift of caring for the sick.

Elaine was married to Steve Davenport for 47 years and was blessed with the birth of their two daughters, Stephanie and Joni.

Elaine enjoyed gardening (when she was in good health) volunteering and serving meals to the elderly. She loved music and concerts, but what she cherished most was being a grandmother to her two beautiful grandchildren, Colton and MacKenna. Being a grandmother gave Elaine purpose and it brought her great joy.

Elaine is survived by her husband, Steve Davenport; daughters, Stephanie Johnson (Jeff Johnson) and Joni Davenport; grandchildren, Colton and MacKenna Johnson; sisters, Marilyn Bryant, Lori Peck, and Joan Bogan; brother, Vern Bryant; brother-in-law’s, Allen Davenport, Terry; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Elaine is preceded in death by her mother and father, Carrie and Hunter Bryant, and sister, Carolyn Danner.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023 at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
