Helen Margaret Powers January 24, 1924 - April 29, 2023

Powers (Law), Helen Margaret, age 99, of Bethany, Oklahoma, died April 29, 2023 after a brief illness. Born on January 24, 1924 in Gotebo, Oklahoma where she lived and attended school until joining the war effort in the shipyards of San Francisco as “Rosie the Riveter”. She later met her husband of over 30 years, Wayne West, a first class naval seaman. They married in 1946 and raised 3 boys, Welbarn Wayne West, Stanley Lynn West and Jeffrey Alan West. As a resident of Bethany for 70+ years she was adored by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many friends. They all knew her by her bright smile and infectious laugh. She was always proud of her family as well as the many years of service at the Childrens Convalescent Hospital. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 2^nd, from 3-8 PM at Buchanan Funeral Service. Her funeral service will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, May 3^rd, at Buchanan’s with burial to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
