Isla Bloom Blue was born in the Spring Creek Community on June 12, 1911 to Henry and Lela Bloom, she was approaching her 101st birthday.
She and her late husband, Ray Blue, began farming in the Gracemont area in 1930. She suffered a stroke 8 years agoand has since lived in Oklahoma City.
Isla was a wonderfulmother, gardener and fabulous cook (having won blue ribbons at the Fair for her bread-making) and a quilt maker. A life well- lived, she always thought of others first in her most loving unselfish way.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ray blue; her parents, Henry and Lela Bloom; brothers, Kenneth and Manley Bloom; sisters, Grace Nowlin and Avis Doby; son-in-law, Don Morse. She is survived by sister, Mildred Snook, of Hays, KS; 2 sons and 3 daughters and their spouses; Audy and Wanda Blue, Bonnie and Elbert Smith, Raythene and Glen Rock, Kay and Vernon McAffrey and Butch and Teresa Blue; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the funeral home from 12 noon to 8:30 PM. A graveside service will be held 10 AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Spring Creek Cemetery in Caddo County.
