James Lowell Fincher was born July 23, 1942 in Ajo, Arizona to Troy and Rosalie (Stephens) Fincher. He attended Pepperdine University and graduated from Arizona State majoring in Education with a minor in Music. He taught school in Arizona, California and Idaho for a total of 25 years; finishing as the principal at Coeur d’ Alene Christian School in Northern Idaho. While in Idaho, he also farmed and was a dairy farmer for 8 years. He loved to fish and there was never a family vacation that didn’t include fishing, playing cards and dominoes. He also loved to sing. He is survived by his wife, Merilyn; sons, Jimmy and Mark; brother, Bob; grandchildren, Colton, Cade, Ashlynn, Justin and Kira and one great grandson, Emmitt. Visitation will be at Buchanan Funeral Service Friday, Nov. 15, 2019 from 1-8 PM with the family receiving visitors from 4-6 PM. Services to celebrate his life will be Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Northwest church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Yukon, Cemetery, Yukon, OK.
