James Powell October 9, 1946 - December 14, 2010

2nd Lieutenant James J. Powell Jr., died December 14th, 2010. He was born October 9, 1946 in Muskogee, OK to James J. and Margaret (O'Conner) Powell. J. J. was a retired OK Highway Patrol Trooper and a security guard at the Governor's mansion. He served his country in the US Marines. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Joseph E. Shephard and a nephew, David King, Jr.
J. J. is survived by his loving wife, Kathie of the home; 2 daughters, Robin and husband Chad Yoder of Yukon, Ann and husband Billy Croan of Edmond; 3 grandchildren, Madalinn Yoder, Johnathan Altizer and Melayna Croan; a sister, Jane and husband David King of Broken Arrow and their children Donna and Jeff, as well as other nieces, nephews and loved ones. Services to celebrate his life will be 10:00 AM, Friday, December 17th at Life Church of Yukon with interment at Ft. Sill National Cemetery.
