Leslie Sue Gilmore January 5, 1967 - September 29, 2014

Leslie Sue Gilmore of Piedmont, Oklahoma passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 29, 2014, with a host of family and friends by her side.

Leslie was born on January 5, 1967 in Carrollton, Texas. Leslie graduated from Anderson High School in Anderson, Indiana. She attended Ball State University and the University of Central Oklahoma.

Leslie was employed The Greens Country Club for more than 20 years, last serving in the position of Operations Manager. During her tenure at The Greens, she was recognized by CCA, the World's Second Largest Golf & Country Club, as the Accounting Team Member of Excellence, Rookie Accountant of the Year, and Star Accountant of the Year. In 2012, Leslie started a private corporation as a consultant in the finance field. Leslie was privileged to achieve her life goal of helping others by earning national distinction as a Certified Life Coach. .

Leslie's favorite activities included watching lakeside sunsets, yoga, concerts, camping with her children, all water activities and volunteering.

Leslie was extremely active in her community. Leslie was honored in 2008 by the Piedmont Chamber of Commerce as Volunteer of the Year. Current President and Past Treasurer of the Edmond Chapter of Parents Helping Parents; Board Member of Piedmont Parks and Recreation Board, ARC Steering Committee, the Piedmont Pulse; and a Certified Girl Scouts Events Coordinator. As well as serving on the executive board of those organizations, Leslie also volunteered much of her time and services to other community and charitable organizations including her children's school events and activities. Leslie was a special friend of Lois W. and touched numerous lives through both her service and her spiritual gifts.

Of all the numerous awards and accolades Leslie received, she was most proud of her three children, Darcy Organ of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Holly Organ and Ryan Organ of the home. Leslie was survived by her mother, Sandra Gilmore, and adoptive father, Charles Gilmore; 3 siblings – Amy, Brian and Laurie; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and a host of friends including her special blessing, Jim Tucker.

Services for Leslie will be held at 5:00 pm, October 2, 2014 at North MacArthur Church of Christ, 9300 N. Macarthur, Oklahoma City, East Entrance. The family requests that following the service you join them in watching a beautiful Oklahoma sunset on Hefner Lake, in silent prayer, meditation and grateful mindfulness.
