Lisa Michele Linden January 31, 1969 - July 9, 2017

Lisa Michele Linden of Piedmont, OK went home, to her prepared place in Heaven, on July 9th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lisa was born on January 31st, 1969 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was raised by loving parents, Louis Liles and Sharon Liles Rolens, in Oklahoma City along with her four younger siblings. Lisa enjoyed the upbringing of a close-knit family that was always happiest when together, playing sports, traveling, and spending time with one another at their home on N. McMillan.

In her youth, Lisa was very accomplished in athletics, as well as academics. While she excelled on the Varsity basketball team at Putnam City West High School, she always prioritized her passion for learning and reading, and was an exceptional student. Lisa earned National Honor Society recognition, along with several other scholastic accolades. Lisa was a loyal friend to many of her Class of ’87 classmates, and she cherished these relationships throughout her entire life.

Lisa earned Magna Cum Laude honors from The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX followed by a Masters Degree from Trinity University, and immediately pursued her passion for learning into a career in education, where she positively impacted several students and faculty members in the Putnam City School district. As an educator, Lisa once again excelled in the classroom, earning Overholser Elementary School “Teacher of the Year” honors in 2011. A sample of her many other associations and activities included, the Oklahoma Writing Project, International Reading Association, Putnam City Curriculum Planning Team, and Girls’ Basketball coach. At the time of her passing, Lisa was the Federal Programs Coordinator for Putnam City Schools.

Lisa was a doting mother to her two children, Allyson Holley and Ben Holley, of whom she was very proud. She exemplified a model of strength and independence that will continue to live on in both of them. On June 11th, 2010, Lisa married the love of her life, Glenn Linden, in a family ceremony in Guthrie, OK. Lisa and Glenn enjoyed road trips, baseball games, and spending time with family.

Upon her homecoming, the world lost a caring daughter, a compassionate sister, a proud mother, an adoring aunt, a committed educator, a devoted wife, and a selfless friend. Lisa was preceded in death by her friend and stepmother, Deena Liles of New Braunfels, TX. Survivors in Oklahoma City include her husband Glenn Linden, son Ben Holley, mother and stepfather Sharon & Paul Rolens, brothers Todd Liles and Jason Liles, sisters Lindsay Griffin and Leslie Grove, 8 nieces, 3 nephews, and 1 great nephew. Daughter, Allyson Holley, stepdaughter Alex Linden, father Louis Liles, and brothers Luke, Hayden, and Ian Liles all reside in Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Putnam City Schools Foundation or your favorite local education program.
