Maria “Negra” Patria Melendez 73, of Bethany, OK was called to Heaven on May 3, 2024, with her family at her side. Maria truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with family and friends, snacking, and spending time with her daughters, sisters and family. Maria has an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep positive way. She was born November 12, 1950, in Aibonito P.R. Survivors include her daughters Ana “Cuca’ Salazar of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Josefa “Chiqui Ramon of Joliet, Illinois, Iliana “Lilly” Perez of Poinciana Florida, Maria ‘Lulu” Luce Melendez of Oklahoma City Oklahoma. her sisters Elisa Melendez of Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, Aurea E. Melendez Bronx, New York, Maria M. Maisonet Sugar Grove, Illinois. Her grandchildren Maria Ana Rivera, Charlie Antonio Melendez, Nicolas Pisano, Miguel Rivera, Luis Salazar, Antonio Salazar, Ana Salazar, Priscilla Marie Roman, Saul Roman Jr, Nelson Perez Jr, Cristal Marie Perez, Diamante Del Sol Melendez, Alex Martinez Jr, Joselin Martinez. Her stepdaughter Ana Ocasio and children of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was proceeded in death her parents Jesus Melendez, Josefa Padilla and son Marcial “Charlie’ Roldan Melendez.
