Marijane Newton was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 12, 2024 in Oklahoma City. She was born on May 25,1925 in Byers, Texas. As the only child of Ocie W. and Margaret Callaway, she spent most of her time growing up in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Hardin Junior College and Midwestern University during World War II years. She married her high school sweetheart, Earl Newton, when the war ended. She worked for two oil companies, British Petroleum and Sinclair.
Marijane was a homemaker and very active in charity work. She served two times as the President of Oklahoma Hospitality and was active in the Salvation Army. She was also the president of two book clubs. She was nursery coordinator at Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and also at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas.
She is survived by two sons, Steve and Scott Newton, grandchildren, Mark Newton, Ryan Newton, Michelle Newton, and nine great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held Monday at 9AM, September 16, 2024 at the Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
