Marlene D. Hamm, of Oklahoma City, was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived in Ohio before moving to Oklahoma with her husband Kenneth and three sons in 1983. After graduation from Illinois State University, Marlene worked as a mathematics teacher in Illinois, Ohio and Oklahoma, where she also served as Math Department Chair at Bishop McGuinness High School. Upon retirement from the classroom, Marlene worked for almost 20 years as a private math tutor to countless students in the Northwest Oklahoma City area. She passionately served the Lord as an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Diane and Leonard Spitza. She is survived by her husband Kenneth; her sons Kenneth Jr., Gary (Elizabeth), and Paul (fiancée Cindy); her grandchildren Cameron, Corinna, Lily, Georgeanne and Makayla; her brother Thomas (Connie); her sister Lynda; her nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00AM Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Messiah Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
