Martha Claudine (Johnson) Goodwin, 90 of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died Monday, December 7, 2020 at Baptist Village in Oklahoma City, OK. Born March 21, 1930 in Prague, OK. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dollie (Fain) Johnson. Martha graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1948 and then attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany OK. She married Carl J. Millsap, Sr. in Oct 1949 and they had two children together. She later married Robert L. Goodwin, in 1975.
Martha worked at Tinker Air Force Base, in Midwest City, OK, as a secretary in Maintenance and Supply, for 30 years. She retired in 1990. She enjoyed an active retirement life with her husband, as they traveled extensively across the US with their 5th wheel trailer, and then settled in McAllen, Texas. In 2007, they returned to Oklahoma City as residents of Baptist Village. After her husband passed away in Jan. 2008, Martha remained an active senior resident at Baptist Village where she participated in many social events of the Village as well as enjoying traveling with seniors group tours. Until the spring of 2019 she worked folding cloth dinner napkins for the dining room. She usually folded about 100 napkins, per day, into standup triangles, for use at each place setting on the dining tables
In addition to her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by two sisters; Harriett Elizabeth Browning and Mary Pearline Hroch, her twin sister. She is survived by 2 children, Barbara J. Compton of Mustang, OK and Carl J. Millsap, Jr. (Adena) of Gastonia, NC; 5 grandchildren, Michael Compton of Slaughterville, Ok, Brian Compton of Mustang, OK, Jason Millsap of Knoxville, TN, Ethan Millsap of Nashville, TN and Leah Yurk (Travis) of New Bern, NC; 5 great grandchildren, Tyler Compton of Yukon OK, Derek Compton of Yukon, OK, Lilly Gingerich (Tanner) of LaJunta,Colorado, David Compton of Mustang, OK and Alex Yurk of New Bern, NC; and 2 great great grandchildren, Amilee Compton and Jaxson Compton.
