Mary Blakemore, 85, went home to be with her Lord on January 25, 2023 as a result of a heart condition. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born April 4, 1937 in Kingston, Oklahoma to Sterling and Gladys Little. Mary graduated from Kingston High School in 1955 where she was an honor student, lettered in basketball and track, and played oboe in the band. She married Wyndel Blakemore and they were blessed with three daughters. She was a beautician for many years while raising children and taking care of her family.
Mary had a very generous heart which was full of love for her family. She greatly treasured the time she was able to enjoy in family functions. She faithfully and passionately attended, and
actively participated in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities, which included countless sporting events, recitals, band concerts and competitions, as well as church and school programs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Milton and L.V. Little, and grandson Blake Deaton. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wyndel Blakemore, daughters Mary Pickett and husband Jerry, Anita Humphreys and husband John, Wynell Lowell and husband Brent, grandchildren Kristen Hankinson, Katherine Pickett Mullens, Julie Lindley, Kelly Pickett, Scott Humphreys, Christopher Humphreys, David Humphreys, S.T. Lowell, Reagan Lowell, Chelsea Lowell VanZant, Tiffani Lowell and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Family visitation will be Saturday, January 28, from 4-7 PM at Highland Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A celebration of life will be held at Highland Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Wednesday, February 1st, at 2 PM. Interment will follow at the Bethany Cemetery, Bethany, Oklahoma.
Those who wish to remember Mary in a special way may make gifts in her memory to Our Daily Bread Ministries or Oklahoma Heart Hospital.
