Maryland B Stotts November 26, 1930 - November 6, 2015

Maryland Stotts, born on November 26, 1930, in Mangum, OK to Everett and Bess Hawkins, went home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 6, 2015, joining husband Archer, the love of her life, who preceded her earlier this year.

Maryland grew up in Oklahoma City, attending Hawthorne Grade School, Taft Junior High, and Classen High School, where she met and fell in love with her beloved Archer. Their enduring love story of 66 years touched the lives of all who knew them. During their early years together, Maryland displayed the strength of an army wife while her husband was away during the Korean War. Maryland and Archer raised three children in OKC and enjoyed life-long friendships and family bonds. She delighted in her roles as devoted wife, homemaker, and mother, making their home a place for the family to thrive throughout her husband's long career in the commercial construction business. They both shared a deep love for the Stoldt-Stotts, Inc. family throughout Archer's 39 years there until his retirement. Together they served joyfully and faithfully through the years at Epworth Methodist Church and First Southern Baptist Church of Del City. Maryland was admired by all who knew her for her beauty, grace, and nurturing spirit. She and Archer were the model of strength, patience, generosity, and servanthood throughout their lives.

Maryland is survived by daughter Gay (husband Tim Greeno), daughter Diane (husband Mike Williamson), son Tom Stotts (wife Cindy), granddaughter Wendy Caperton, great-grandchildren Jolie and Cole Caperton, and beloved brother/sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Archer, her parents, and her sister, Barbara Roberts.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her at-home-caregivers Victoria Freeman, Georgia Wheeler, Kofi Semakor, Patricia Dominguez, and the wonderful staff at Bellevue Health and Rehab in OKC where Maryland and Archer resided for a year. Amazingly, Maryland regained enough strength to return to her home where she flourished during her final months.

Family and friends rejoice that Maryland has now joined Archer in heaven, and that these two hearts that could never be separated, are together again in the presence of their Lord Jesus.

Services to celebrate her life will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Buchanan Funeral Service in the chapel.
