Patricia Jo Stickler unexpectedly died Saturday, November 8, 2014 in OKC following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Patti was born December 5, 1932, in Liberal, KS to Roy and Mary Martz. She grew up in Liberal, KS. She married Harry Stickler on February 4, 1951. They lived on a farm near Turpin, OK most of their married life, raising their four children there. She and Harry farmed, operated Stickler Dairy, and later ran Diamond S Feeders, at their farm in Turpin. Patti was active in 4-H, coaching numerous students in public speaking, and served as head cook for the boiling Springs Church Camp for over 40 years. In 1990, the Sticklers relocated to Wynnewood, OK, to operate Stickler Premium Ostriches for several years. She and Harry also owned an ostrich ranch in Africa and quarantine stations in the U.S. Patti Stickler was and accomplished speaker, entrepreneur, and a faithful member of the 4th and Grant Church of Christ in Liberal, KS and recently, the Wynnewood Church of Christ. She was a devoted, faithful, gentle, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who treasured her family above everything else. She is survived by her mother, Mary Martz, of Liberal, KS; four children, daughter, Kathy Faulkner and her husband Les, of OKC, son, Mike Stickler and his wife Carol, of OKC, daughter, Peggy Hoshall and her husband C.B., of OKC, and son, Doug Stickler and his wife Jill, of Clarksburg, Maryland; adopted sons, Harlan and Charles Michael; 11 grandchildren, Lenora Leonard, Chelli Egbert, Kasi Samples, Nicki Dyer, Robert Faulkner, Abby Stickler, John Stickler, Johanna Miller, Conrad Hoshall, Megan Stickler, and Meredith Stickler; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Martz and his wife Cindy of Liberal, KS; brother-in-law, Roy Stickler, Jr. and his wife Betty, of Turpin, OK and many other loving family members and a host of friends. She inspired anyone who knew her with her encouraging words and sense of humor. The Stickler family would like to express our sincere gratitude for the many who faithfully reached out to our Mother during her illness. Our special thanks to her caregivers, Madge, Lucille, Billie and Tammy. Services to celebrate her life will be 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel followed by interment at Olive Hill Cemetery on N. Rockwell Ave. in OKC.
