Paul Allen George April 16, 1949 - October 20, 2014

George was born in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, on April 16, 1949. He graduated from Hobart High School in 1967, and Oklahoma State University in 1972, with a BS degree in business administration. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves as a specialist 5, with an honorable discharge in 1976. Paul worked for Hormel Foods from 1972 to 1998, and then did backflips as he retired. Paul met his wife, Patti Hudson, while she chaperoned his date with her roommate. The date did not go well for the roommate, but went extremely well for Patti. They married August 18, 1979. Paul was already the proud father of a wonderful daughter, Jennifer, who has always been a blessing to both Paul and Patti. On April 18, 1982, God continued to bless Paul and Patti with the gift of another wonderful daughter, Shauna. Paul adored "His Girls". Paul and Patti are members of New Covenant Christian Church. Paul loved to hunt, to talk with his friends on Oklahoma Shooters, to communicate with family and friends through Facebook and email – "Good Morning Lake Creek!" to his aunt and uncle and "Love ya" he wrote to his daughters. Last, but certainly not least, he loved to be with his best friend and loyal companion Rory, his border collie/baby girl. Both Paul and Rory were landmarks in the neighborhood, greeting and chatting with each passerby and delivery person, and making a daily trip to Starbucks for a strong, black coffee and a "puppucino" (a cup of whipped cream) for Rory, compliments of staff.

Paul also loved retirement and working at area gun ranges. He is known as a straight shooter, loved and respected by all who knew him. All agree the world is a better place because he lived. Paul is survived by Patti, his wife of 35 years, his daughters, Jennifer Willis and Shauna George, his sister, Jeretta Sue Sudduth, and her husband, Lonnie, his surviving aunts and uncle, Betty Webber and Mildred and Charles Metheny, nieces, nephews, cousins, various outlaw friends and other loved ones. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church of Hobart or Oklahoma Border Collie Rescue. A viewing is scheduled at Buchanan Funeral Service in Oklahoma City from 10 AM to 8PM on Thursday, October 23. The Celebration of a Joyous Life service is scheduled at 10 AM at New Covenant Christian Church in Oklahoma City.
