Phyllis Ann Price July 1, 1948 - August 8, 2019

Phyllis Ann (Custard) Price was born 1 July 1948 at Guthrie Hospital, Oklahoma and passed away 8 August 2019 in her home in Yukon, Oklahoma. Phyllis, affectionally known as Oma by many, grew up mainly in Coyle and Guthrie, Oklahoma and lived briefly in Hanford, CA as a child. She is survived by her husband, Roy Preston Price married in Tishomingo, OK on 1 December 1972; her sister Barbara Cravens of Boise, Idaho; and three sons, retired Army Colonel John David Price of Carlisle, PA; James Dean Price of Cody, Wyoming; and Robert Preston Price of Edmond, OK. Oma had two grandsons, Sean Alexander Renshaw of Loveland Colorado and Michael Dean Price of OKC; and two granddaughters Army 2LT Nikita Christian Price of Colorado Springs, and Mattie Christian Price of Carlisle, PA and one great-granddaughter Autumn Rain of Loveland Colorado. She is also survived by marriage with four other daughters by law, four other children by Roy, a niece Janet (Cravens) Brennan, and many more grandchildren and great grandchildren across the United States. She met Roy in Anadarko, married and he adopted both of her older boys. They moved briefly to Texas, Arkansas and Idaho over 47 years, but made their home primarily in Guthrie, Piedmont, and Yukon. Phyllis Ann was first a mother, wife, sister, aunt and grandmother, but also a teacher of MH/LR students with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and teaching certificates from the state of Oklahoma. She was an Outreach Coordinator at Guthrie Job Corps; and served as a board member of the first Women’s Professional and Business Organization of Guthrie. She was the principal and a minister of a private mission school in Bangladesh for a year, a member of multiple local churches helping to feed the homeless, and taught inmates in prison in El Reno. Over the last few years, she pursued her passion of becoming an artist and won many 1st and 2nd place awards in the Oklahoma City area for her artwork. She was also a small business owner. She will be buried at Crescent Cemetery with her parents, Robert Allen Custard and Glenna Charlene (Reuss) Custard, both grandparents Reuss and Custard, and 25 or more aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members clan buried at Crescent Cemetery.
