A time of public visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Buchanan Funeral Service of
Oklahoma City. Graveside Services for Phyllis will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery
in Oklahoma City. All are welcome to come and celebrate Phyllis' life.

Phyllis Jacklene Thomas, 91, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on February 18, 2025. She was born in Sasakwa, Oklahoma, to James and Opal Harbert on October 18, 1933.Phyllis graduated from Maysfield High School, where she was actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities. She was a member of the Glee Club, Cheerleading Squad, Choir, and the Basketball Team. A natural leader, she served as the Past Worthy Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, was a member of the Quartet Club, and participated in the Student Council. She was also honored to be named Annual Queen. In addition to these achievements, Phyllis was crowned Miss National P.O.W. and Oil Queen for the Texas Oil Company in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She earned a degree in Psychology from Oklahoma Christian University in 1977. She married Dr Jack Thomas on August 15, 1953, and together they raised three children: William Thomas, Janette Shiflet, and Tamara Plender. Phyllis had a deep love for family, travel, and hospitality. She cherished time spent with loved ones and was an enthusiastic hostess, always eager to entertain. A devoted member of her church, she was also active in the Red Hat Society and participated in many travel clubs throughout the years. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Tamara Plender and her husband Gregory, daughter in law, Robin Thomas, and son in law Jim Shiflet; eight grandchildren: William Thomas, Hope-Ann Thomas, Jesse Shiflet, Lindsey Bartley, Brooklyn Plender, Dana Brittain, Brandalyn Plender, and Shelby Plender; as well as 15 great-grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Jack Thomas, and two children, William Thomas and Janette Shiflet. Phyllis will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and enduring love for her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
