Resa Petunia Miller was born September 24, 1957 in Denver City Texas and left this life on November 30, 2011 in Plantation Florida.
She is survived by her children; Daughter, Brooke Baxter Christensen, Son and Daughter in Law, Daniel And Liz Baxter; Mother, Bertha Tyson, Father and Step Mother, Alvin & Carol Hollingsworth, Brother and Sister in Law Arlan and Naomi Hollingsworth, Sister, Torla Wilder, Sister Twana Mejia and their respective children, Resa's Nieces and Nephews and Great Niece and Nephew; the Father of her children Danny Baxter and his parents Dan and Judy Baxter and John and Barbara Wilken which Resa considered her extended family.
In her professional career, Resa was the owner and operator of Advanced Medical Billing. She was a member of the American Association of Professional Coders. Resa was also a member of Women Heart, an organization devoted to women's heart education and was invited to Washing DC where she participated in their national conference. She was also a volunteer at the Oklahoma Humane Society and was one of the first official "Pink Ladies" of the Miss Piedmont Scholarship Pageant.
Resa lived her life determined to experience anything and everything she could from surfing, disco dancing, deep-sea fishing, cooking, sports cars, and her love for cruising on the open seas. Her brightest moments in life were her children. From traveling to Miss Oklahoma with her daughter Brooke, or to Milwaukee with her son Daniel to experience the all star baseball game, she made sure that there were very few moments in her children's lives she missed.
All that knew her will miss Resa's love, determination and devotion; but we know that she will be watching over all of us and guiding us as we continue to sail these waters in life.
In honor of her love for the beach and open seas, Daniel, Brooke & their family will be placing Resa exactly where she would want to be… on a white sandy beach with crystal clear waters of the Caribbean.
