Rita Dell Lapham March 23, 1936 - September 18, 2016

Rita D. Lapham went to celebrate with her family in Heaven this past Saturday after watching her Sooners play one last game. Rita was a registered nurse for over 50 years and touched the lives of patients, coworkers, and friends, creating a family. Born in Oklahoma City, OK to Ed and Grayce Stevens, Rita also had the pleasure of counting Carl and Florence Rains as her parents. Rita's life spanned from Oklahoma City to Banning, CA, and back again. She was preceded in death by her parents Ed & Grayce Stevens and Carl & Florence Rains; her brother E.L.; her sister-in-law Jo; her sister Sharon, and her baby, Robert Howard. She leaves behind her son Steven Lapham and his wife Via of Banning, CA; daughter, Robin Gilmore of OKC; son-in-law Danny Gilmore of Newalla, OK; grandchildren, Nick Lapham (Waleska) Stephanne Lapham-Reagins,(David Heilaman), Sarah, Sarena, and Sierra Lapham, Dustin, Danielle and Megan Gilmore. Great-grandchildren, Cesar, Joseph, Nicole, Angela, Ritabelle, Elena, Steven, Ronica, Johneven, Harper, Echo and Daniel; Great-great baby Serenity, with one more sweet baby on the way; two brothers Paul Stevens (Jane), Larry Stevens (Cheryl) multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be missed deeply. She lived a life of service to her family, her patients, and her Lord and Savior. She leaves this world better for having been here, and we will celebrate her for the rest of our lives. The indelible mark Granny left will allow her gentle touch to be passed on for generations. Visitation will be Thursday 1-8 pm with the family receiving guests from 6-8 pm. Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday September 23rd in the chapel of Buchanan Funeral Service.
