Ronald Charles Penrod, 81, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away quietly at home on June 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 8, 1943, in Oklahoma City, he was the beloved son of Harold and Lois Penrod.
He had a fulfilling career in manufacturing for the General Motors company, where he made significant contributions and formed many lasting friendships.
Ronald met the love of his life, Bonita, in 1969 and shortly thereafter they married. Together, they raised three children: Angela, Donna, and Jerry. They shared a lifetime of happiness and love until her passing in 2019. Ronald was blessed with a large family that brought him great joy, including 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Ronald enjoyed fishing, photography, supporting the OU Sooners, gardening, and music. He was known for his patience, humor, thoughtfulness, kindness, generosity, and his love for a good whiskey and coke.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lois Penrod; his brother, Harold Penrod Jr.; his wife, Bonita Jean Penrod; and his grandson, Taylor Stout. He is survived by his daughters and son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with many cousins and friends.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on July 2, 2024, at 11 AM at Buchanan Funeral Service in Oklahoma City.
