Roy Joseph Hultz, affectionately called Popey, was born August 26, 1940 in Swedesboro, NJ to Robert H. & Bertha (Catling) Hultz. He graduated from Wilmington Delaware High School. After serving in the army in the 50's, he married his high school sweetheart Carol, after sixteen years, Roy lost Carol. Roy was a manager for Jack in the Box in Delaware. After the stores closed, he was offered a position in Albuquerque, NM. It was here he met and fell in love with Judy Faye Walker. It was not love at first sight for Judy but God had great plans for the two of them together. On February 14, 1983, at the Bele Vista Baptist Church that Roy and Judy were married. Roy's job moved him once again in 1985 this time to Oklahoma City. There they became active members of Windsor Hills Baptist Church in the bus ministry and deaf department. In 1988, the Lord brought Sean Robert Hultz into their lives. Roy was a faithful prayer warrior. If there was a problem or situation and you asked him to pray with you about, there was no doubt it would be done. He spent hours in prayer taking time to pray for each missionary and their family members by name and their work. He prayed for all his family and friends as well. On the way home from church most Sunday mornings he would ask about one person or another and their situation they had asked prayer for or how the family was doing. He would mention about one of the people at the Wellington where he lived and ask for prayers for them whether it was their health or something with their family. His prayers will be greatly missed. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Robert; his mother, Bertha; and just 3 years ago by his wife, Judy. Roy is survived by Jim Hultz (W Palm Beach, FL), Shari (Hultz) Breed (Schererville, IN), Sean Hultz (OKC), and Becky Veteto (OKC); Three grandchildren and a host of friends. Thank you to all the doctors & nurses at Select Specialty Hospital for taking such good care of Roy these past few weeks. Thank you to all the friends at The Wellington for making it his new home.
