Ruth “Jaunell” Amos Moses, 104, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday January 27th, 2025. Jaunell was born to Pearl and Ernest Crawford on August 10th, 1920 in Greenville, Texas. Her family moved to Seminole, Oklahoma when she was six years old during the glory days of the Seminole oil boom. She attended East Side Elementary School and graduated from Seminole High School in 1938. Thereafter, she graduated from the Degraft School of Cosmetology in Seminole. She then worked in a number of beauty salons around Seminole for approximately 30 years before becoming the owner of the Little Beauty Shop until 1970. She held a cosmetology license for 80 years choosing not to renew in 2019.

Jaunell married Rawlin “CR” Amos on September 6, 1938 with whom she had her four children Carolyn, Charlene, Marian, and Pete. After the passing of Rawlin in 1966, she married Clifford Moses in 1970. Family was the cornerstone of Jaunell’s life, and she enjoyed spending time with her thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was also a gifted seamstress and collected antique dolls and glassware which were displayed throughout her home.

Jaunell is preceded in death by husbands “CR” Amos and Clifford Moses, son Pete Amos, parents, five siblings, and grandsons Stephen Henry and Tod Robertson. She is survived by sisters Virginia Burrus and Dorothy “Cleo” Pensoneau, daughters Carolyn Sullivan, Charlene Robertson, and Marian Henry, grandchildren Greg Givens, Lynn Givens, Carey Robertson, Bradley Robertson, Bret Henry, Ryan Amos, Ricky Amos, Russell Amos, Tiffany Pacey, Brent Moses, and Chad Moses, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Jaunnell leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Service. A viewing will be held at Buchanan Funeral Service on Friday, January 31st, from 1 PM to 5 PM. Additionally, a graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 1st at 12:30 PM at Little Cemetery, 11522 OK-99, Seminole, OK 74868.
