Sammy Dwaine Kysar March 4, 1932 - August 8, 2015

Sammy was born in Waynoka, OK to Fletcher and Juanita (Wilson) Kysar. He graduated from Waynoka High School in 1950 and married Oleta Miller that same year. He worked on the Santa Fe Railroad as a car inspector for ten years. He obtained an electrical engineering degree from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Oklahoma City University. He was employed by Western Electric in OKC in 1964. He retired after 32 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Oleta; daughter, Diana Nowland and husband Russell; son, Jeff Kysar and wife Michele; son-in-law, Jim Taylor; grandchildren, Kristi Evans and husband Carlos, Kyle Taylor, Eric Nowland, Chase, McKenzie, and Rylee Kysar; great grandchildren, Kaycie, Carson, and Kendall Evans; brother, Danny Strohmeyer and wife Linda; sister-in-law, Jeannie Kysar, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Floyd and J.D. Kysar; daughter, Kathy Taylor. Sam served his country in the army and was active in his community through volunteer work. He was a Trustee for the PC Public Schools Foundation. He enjoyed tutoring children in reading and math at area schools and working on special school projects. He successfully owned and maintained several rental property complexes through the years. Putting in countless hours at his apartments, he wore many hats such as plumber, painter, heat and air technician, carpenter, furniture repairer, lawn mower, general maintenance man, and many more. Although he was given a hard time about his work van many times, it had just about everything in it he could ever possibly need. Some of his favorite things included playing with his model trains, traveling, snow skiing, attending grandkids' sports and school activities, helping with family projects, going to train shows, studying history, and gathering with family. Sam's greatest treasure in life was his family, always putting them first. His grandkids and great grandkids were his pride and joy. He will be remembered by family and friends as a hardworking, kind, honest, simple, dedicated, creative, humble, brilliant, supportive, loving, and generous family man. This very special man will live forever in the hearts of his family. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 14 at Buchanan Funeral Service.
