Thomas “Tom” Hayes Simpson II July 15, 1942 - October 10, 2021

Thomas “Tom” Hayes Simpson, II, 79, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away October 10, 2021.

Tom was born in Evansville, Indiana on July 15, 1942 as the third child to Thomas Hayes Simpson and Irene (Colligan) Simpson. He attended Corpus Christi Catholic School in OKC, followed by Bishop McGuiness High School, graduating in 1962. Tom continued his studies at Central State College with a focus on business and accounting.

Tom worked at Home Mortgage Investment Company from 1967-1971. In 1971, he began his own business of home improvement and beautification enjoying self-employment for the next 50 years.

Tom was diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma at the age of 11 years old which led to dozens of surgeries, treatments and facial reconstruction which permitted Tom a full life.

Tom was a member of the OKC Corvette Club, Collie Club of America as well as the Oklahoma City Obedience Training Club. Tom’s love of Corvettes and Collies was ever present. He was a proud owner of 5 different Collies over the last 50 years: Lady, Magic, Sooner, Lucky and Sundance.  

Tom is a parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church and previously a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Cathedral.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Hayes Simpson and Irene (Colligan) Simpson as well as his sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Simpson) Knaup. Tom is survived by his sister, Mary (Simspon) Mimick (Gerald), his twin brother, John R Simpson (Diane) and numerous nieces and nephews.
