Victor Ray Hicks was born on Dec. 17, 1925 to Tishie Lee Walls Hicks and George Washington Hicks in Morris, OK. He entered the kingdom of Heaven on Sept. 19, joining his beloved wife, Gerri. Victor was a retired Southwestern Bell employee and a veteran and POW of WWII. He spent most of his life in the Oklahoma City and Piedmont areas, and was an active member of the Piedmont Church of Christ. Pops loved Gerri's cooking, tending to his garden, reading the Bible, and entertaining anyone close by with his jovial wit. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children Lyndall Ray Hicks and wife Georgia, Mary Morgan, Jeannie Mitzner and husband Mark, Terry Hicks and wife Debi, and Vicki Platner and husband John; grandchildren Tyler Hicks, Julie Hornbeek, Jessica Mitzner, Heather Riddle, Jake Wooldridge, Kara Apperson, Robert Hicks, Kerry Hicks and Bo Rogers; and great- grandchildren Kohl Rogers, Faith Rogers, Royce Hicks, Rhett Hicks, and Bo Riddle. Visitation will be 1:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Buchan Funeral Service with family receiving visitors from 5:00 -7:00 pm. Services will be held at Buchanan Funeral Service at 9:00 am, Friday, September 25th.
