Virgil Douglas Walker, Sr. was born September 22, 1932 in Madill, Oklahoma to Dudley William & Leota Pearl Harless Walker. He died on July 28, 2021 at Teal Ridge Assisted Living Center in Edmond, Oklahoma, from colon cancer. He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, M. Loretha (Russell) Walker, a son, Johnny Kevin Walker, and 9 siblings, W.R. Walker, Mildred Walker Riddle, Otis Walker, Gene Walker, Newton Walker, Dorothy Walker Beals, Leota Walker Settlemires, Lillian Walker Russell & Jody Walker. He is survived by 5 children, Janet Louise Fredericks of Edmond, OK, Virgil Douglas Walker, Jr. & wife Robin of Edmond, OK, Sherry L. Oxford of Jones, OK, Becky Reynolds and husband Bobby of Edmond, OK and William (Bill) Albert Walker of Edmond, OK and his sister, Ruth Ingram of Choctaw, OK, 17 grandchildren and numerous great-granchildren. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice and Teal Ridge Assisted Living. A graveside service for Virgil will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK.
