Wendell D.., age 82 of OKC, went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 7, 2010. He was born October 28, 1927 in Eastman, OK to Claude and Lucille (Burch) Lang. Wendell married Lila Lee Abernathy April 10, 1949 in Iowa Park, TX. He worked in the Oilfield and they traveled around on the job, living in 57 different places in the 61 years of marriage. Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Cletus and Claude; a sister Nelda Benefield and a grandson Joe Don Lang. He is survived by his wife, Lila; 3 sons, Donald (Chris) of OKC, Darrell (Nan) of Shawnee, David (Jody) of Weatherford; 9 grandchildren, Gray, Griffin, Carey Alice, John Radford, Jason, Jared (Amber), Joshua (Sommer), Heath (CheyAnne), and A1C Matthew Lang; 9 Great-grandchildren,Tyler, Madilyne, Zayne, Dylan, Danyn, Daley, Tanner, Tucker & Tatum; a sister, Linda Pope 2 sister-in-laws, Mary K. and Barbara Lang and numerous nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate his life will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 11 at Eastman Baptist Church with burial in Eastman Cemetery.
