Ann was born to Viggo and Leona Nielsen on July 25, 1933. She graduated from high school in Chicago, IL and attended Roosevelt College in the field of Dental Assisting. The family moved to Eau Clair, WI at the time of her father’s retirement. Ann worked for Land O’Lakes in Eau Clair as a sales/manufacturing coordinator. Ann loved the outdoors and spent her free time with her dad fishing the beautiful rivers of Wisconsin.
Ann married her husband Howard on September 12, 1979. They fished from the Rio Grande River to the St. Lawrence Seaway in Canada, where they lived for 6 years. When Howard retired in 1989, they camped, traveled and fished extensively. They camped from the mountains of Colorado and the high country of Arizona, and spent a lot of time shelling and taking walks on the beach at the Gulf and Florida Panhandle.
Ann loved life, and spending time with her family celebrating life events, and always let them know about her “big catch” of the day.
Ann is survived by her husband Howard of 41 years, her son Steve Elwell and wife Linda of Eau Clair, Wisconsin; son, Jeff Dahlstrom of Denver, CO; her sister Camille Pack of Algonquin, IL; 6 grandchildren, Chris, Becky, Shane, Levi, Kristi, and Lis (short for Elizabeth;) and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services to celebrate her life will be 2 pm, Friday, September 4, 2020 in the chapel of Buchanan Funeral Service.
