Barbara Sue, age 73 of Oklahoma City went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 23, 2011. She was born April 10, 1937 in Royalty, TX to Samuel T. and Evelyn McNiel Vernon. Barbara was a sales clerk in retail sales. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. Barbara is survived by a brother, Sam Vernon and wife Ginger of Bethany; a son, Samuel Tackett and wife Donna of Hennessey; a daughter, Nena and husband Dennis Pealor of Oklahoma City; 4 grandchildren, Justin Tackett of Hennessey, Brandi and husband Charlie Kusiak of Edmond, Bridget and husband David Kretsch of Oklahoma City, and Candice Pealor of Edmond; a Great-grandson, Preston John Kretsch and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association 120 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000 Chicago, IL 60606. Services to celebrate her life will be 12:30 PM, Thursday, January 27 in OKC at Buchanan Funeral Service Chapel with a graveside service at 3:30 PM, Memorial Park Cemetery, Enid, Oklahoma.
