On the morning of May 9, 2024, Cindy, passed away peacefully in her sleep, she was 66.
Cindy Copeland was born on March 26, 1958 to William and Patricia Hooper. She was the youngest of three children.
Cindy was married for 43 years to her soulmate, James Copeland. During their marriage, Cindy greatly enjoyed being an Army Sergeant’s wife and enjoyed their two deployments to Europe. She raised two children, Jamie and Julie. Cindy raised her children alongside James with love and devotion while being stationed both stateside and in Germany twice, and then at the end of a 20-year service career retiring in Lawton, Oklahoma. While Jamie and Julie were growing up in Lawton, Oklahoma, Cindy made sure the family home was the place to be for all of the neighborhood kids. Cindy made it her passion to keep not only her children but all of the neighborhood friends safe, fed, and having fun so that each kid was staying out of trouble. Known for having a big heart and always trying to ensure everyone was cared for, Cindy made sure everyone always felt loved and protected, therefore, becoming everyone’s second momma. Cindy was a proud and dedicated teacher of 30 years which gave her the ability to reach many different children of all different walks of life. Yet, among everything it was her greatest blessing to be a grandmother to four grandchildren, Shelby (16), Ethan (16), Noah (14), and Hailey (13). She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed.
Cindy Copeland was preceded in death by her parents, William and Patricia Hooper, and her daughter, Jamie Roberts.
Cindy Copeland is survived by her husband, James Copeland, her daughter and son-in-law Julie and Timothy Graham, grandchildren Ethan and Hailey Graham, son-in-law Andrew Roberts and grandchildren Shelby and Noah Bond.
The visitation and viewing will be on Thursday, May 16, 2024, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Buchanan Funeral Service in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:00 am at Buchanan Funeral Service in Oklahoma City, OK. Cemetery Services will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK.
