Gilman James Housley was born May 31, 1947, in Norman, Oklahoma. He is the son of Ronald Eldorus Housley and Mary Eleise Housley. He completed this life at his home on November 20, 2023, at the age of 76. Gilman was raised in Oklahoma City with his parents and five siblings. He was a 1965 graduate of Cascia Hall in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gilman then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and graduated in 1971. Following his graduation, he began his career at New York Life Insurance Company. Gilman was a man of strong character who lived by his faith and family. Gilman was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served a two-year mission at California North Mission. He loved his family fiercely, and he was considered by family and friends to be loving, considerate, and charismatic. He had an abundance of compassion for others. He always had a smile on his face and loved to tell his family stories. Some of his enjoyments included family gatherings and vacations, trips to the lake, playing with his grandchildren, and attending church. Gilman will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In January of 1972, Gilman married Jerri Housley in the Oakland, California temple and they began their married life together in Oklahoma City. Gilman is survived by Jerri Housley and their children; Keven Housley, Kerri (Ryan) Arbon, Jennifer (John) Califano, Clint (Emily) Housley, and Michael (Lynn) Housley. His grandchildren; Brittany, Alissa, Rylee, Emily, Sarah, Josh, Jaycee, Taylor, Jackson, Jake, Katelyn, Eden, Kora, Jace, Nate, Landon, Blakely, Emmersyn, and Quinn. His great grandchildren; Ellie and soon-to-be Liam. His siblings; Chris Housley, Trent Housley, Ben Housley, Tina Cowan, and Brooke Frantz. Gilman was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law Sheila Housley, and granddaughter Alissa. Friends and loved ones are invited to a graveside service on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm CST at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 North Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73131.
