Glenys Ione (Jefferies) McClellan, age 91, went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 12, 2021. She was born September 14, 1929 in Anthony, KS to Guy and Mary Jefferies. She grew up in a multi-generational farm home near Wellington, KS. Glenys served decades at Churches of Christ in Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma in her role as Bible School teacher, Bible Hour leader, and church bus ministry. Her collection of flannel board stories and the giant blow-up fish for her Jonah story are things of legend. She had a lifetime love of teaching 4 and 5-year olds and teaching “just the Bible” which has impacted generations. She studied Revelations with a passion and declared that she was ready to move on to the riches prepared. She was an adventurous cook and had a constant need to try new recipes. In recent weeks, she even obtained a secret recipe from the chef at her assisted living. She was a true Thunder fan first enjoying the games with her sister/cousin Elma Mae and then with son-in-law Roger and son Jack. Preceding her in death are her parents and siblings Walter, Elga B., Bennie, Elma Maye, and Faye. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Ruth Ann and Roger Dreyer of Edmond, OK, son Jack McClellan and wife Mary of Topeka, KS, and daughter Rita Weeks and husband Don of Edmond, OK. Her grandchildren are Josie and husband Jeff Elliott, Lindsey and husband Zachary Wagers, Tyler McClellan and wife Rachel, David Robinson and wife Alix and Aaron Craig. Great grandchildren are Brody, Wyatt, Gunner, Ruthie, Jonas, Wade, Rory, Rush, Scotty, Konner, Tagen, Paxton, Sawyer, Finn, Ayla, and Cedric with three more great grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by cousin David Burdue and wife Donna of Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Springs Church of Christ Children’s Ministry in memorial.
