Helen Ruth Waite December 6, 1930 - December 6, 2017

Helen, age 87, was born in OKC to Eldor R. and Elizabeth H. Jeske. She was summoned by God on Dec. 6, 2017, as He welcomed home another child. Helen graduated from Oklahoma City University in 1952, with a bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration majoring in Journalism. She had always wanted to teach, and she was encouraged to return to college, at UCO, Edmond. She accomplished her quest for a degree in education, and with the OCU credits and UCO credits, she needed only seventeen hours to attain her Master’s in Education, which she proceeded to study for in two semesters and summer school. She was immediately hired by the Putnam City Schools, where she taught for 20 years, retiring in 1990. She left behind her husband of 65 years, Wilder James (Jim) Waite. There were two children of this marriage; son, Steven Mark, who predeceased her; son, Timothy James Waite and wife Cheryl and grandchildren, Javian and Isabel; grandson, Eric Stratton and wife Stephany, great-grandsons, Andrew and Zachary, of Mansfield, TX. Another special person is the family’s sister-n-law, Mary Waite, New Braunfels, TX. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Messiah Lutheran for the distribution to some of the families favorite charities. Visitation will be from 1-8 PM with family to receive guests from 6-7 PM on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Buchanan Funeral Service. Services to celebrate her life will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Messiah Lutheran Church with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
