Jimmie Doyle McMinn passed away on August 16, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones, after battling liver cancer since November of 2022. He was born on April 5, 1941, to Felton “Bus” and Opal McMinn in Martha, Oklahoma.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Felton and Opal; sister, Neta Martin; and grandson, Kacey Russell Sheldon.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy McMinn; daughter, Stacey Sheldon; sons, Jason (Randa) McMinn and Justin McMinn; grandchildren, Tyler Sheldon, Kaleigh and Elijah Lee, and Paxton McMinn; brother, Kern (Sharon) McMinn; sister, Jyl (Leon) Hobbs; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jim was a CPA for 39 years and an avid lover of OU football. He held a season ticket from 1969 – 2019! He loved spending vacations at Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas. He enjoyed being a Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America and volunteering for Trail Life. He loved family gatherings and the warmth and love that surrounded him when everyone was together.
Arrangements for Jim are under the direction of Buchanan Funeral Service. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Buchanan Funeral Service, 8712 N Council Rd. Oklahoma City, OK 73132. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at St. Mark’s Methodist Church, 8140 NW 36th St. Bethany, OK 73008.
