Kaylan Dee of Oklahoma City passed away Tuesday, August 17. She was born May 2, 1956 in Norman, OK to Modena and Frank Jones. Kaylan is survived by her husband of 35 years, Charles Sidney Head and daughter Sydney Elizabeth Head, both of the home. Kaylan opened Full Circle Obedience School and Pet Care in April 1990 which she operated until passing it onto her daughter in April of this year. Kaylan dedicated her life to many animal-related causes. She was an advocate for animal rights and involved with multiple dog rescues, Therapy Dog International evaluator for over 20 years, and member of United Schutzhund Club of America, among other significant canine organizations. She was the enthusiastic host of SPEAK!, a radio show for dog lovers. Kaylan was also an avid writer and a featured reader at many poetry events, and received the James Axley Merit Award in 1999. Kaylan touched so many people in so many positive ways through her deeds and devotion, and she will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to know her. Services will be held at Buchanan Funeral Service at 8712 N. Council on Monday, August 23 at 2 pm with a celebration to follow at Full Circle Obedience School at 7823 NW 94th St. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations.
