Date of Funeral

February 28, 2024

Celebration of Life: 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene

Lynn Lucas passed away February 25th at the age of 92 surrounded by her loved ones. Her life was centered on her faith in God and her family, including her church family.

She shared six decades of companionship, love and laughter with her husband Luke. Together they raised their children in France, Spain, California, Arizona, and Oklahoma. One of her greatest joys was the time that she spent with her grandkids and great grandkids.

She loved animals and all of her pets enjoyed the good life as a part of her family. She gave generously of her time and resources to charities for both people and animals. She volunteered for 41 years at Mercy Hospital sharing her compassion for helping people and her talents for organization, knitting and sewing. She never came across a problem that she couldn’t fix and made everyone feel like family.

In her last hours she told her family that she was ready to begin a new journey. She began that journey with selflessness and grace, the same qualities that friends and family admired in her, every day of her life.

Celebration of life will be Wednesday, February 28th, 1:00 pm at Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene, 4400 NW Expressway.

Lynn wanted people to dress in bright colors (no black!) and encouraged jeans! In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to Best Friends Animal Foundation.

We only moved next door to her a few months ago! I am so saddened by this news. She was such a sweet person to meet and I loved to see her walking her dog, despite the weather!

I met Lynn over 40 years ago. I loved to watch her and Luke country dance at Stampede Restaurant. They were a very loving couple and treated everyone like family. I will cherish the memories I have of them. Prayers go out to her family and friends.
